Hannabass & Rowe Helps the NHTSA with Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign
Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Ensuring Safety on the Roads During the Holidays
As the holiday season approaches, law enforcement agencies across the country are ramping up their efforts to crack down on impaired driving. The message is clear: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. (I.E. Face some serious consequences).
According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), alcohol-impaired driving remains a leading cause of road fatalities, particularly during the festive period. In 2017 alone, drunk driving-related crashes claimed the lives of 10,874 individuals, underscoring the need for heightened awareness and enforcement of drunk driving laws.
To combat this alarming trend, the NHTSA has launched the national campaign “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” which runs from December 23rd to January 1st. During this time, law enforcement agencies nationwide will be stepping up patrols and conducting sobriety checkpoints to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.
The consequences of driving under the influence can be severe. In addition to the risk of causing a serious accident resulting in injury or death, impaired drivers face legal repercussions, including hefty fines, license suspension, and even imprisonment. Moreover, the emotional and financial toll on victims and their families can be devastating and long-lasting.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday season for all, it’s essential to plan ahead and make responsible choices. If you plan to drink, designate a sober driver, use a ride-sharing service, or arrange for alternative transportation. Remember, there is never an excuse to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.
By working together to raise awareness and enforce drunk driving laws, we can prevent needless tragedies on our roads and ensure that everyone reaches their destination safely. This holiday season, let’s all do our part to drive sober and protect the lives of ourselves and others.
